What’s the Dill?

Justin and Tyler started making pickles as a hobby, but a “pickle epiphany” changed the trajectory of everything. The Jalapeño Honey Dills were the first pickle-babies of The Real Dill. After joining the local farmers market circuit in 2012, a larger product line was developed. This led to another business game-changer: a bomb Bloody Mary mix. It was an accidental discovery, but life has a dilly way of working out. The Real Dill’s famous Bloody Mary mix utilizes leftover water from the pickling process, which became the Bloody’s main ingredient.

Today The Real Dill sells made-from-scratch products online and in stores around Denver, from the OG Jalapeño Honey Dills and Caraway Garlic Dills, to DIY Bloody Mary kits and a bestselling Green Chili Hot Sauce. There are always different events going on too — like this upcoming pickle workshop in February with The GrowHaus.

But The Real Dill’s initiative extends beyond pickles and Bloodys. The zero-waste company diverts more than 30,000 lbs of food scraps annually to a local nonprofit partner that composts for urban farming. The Real Dill also partners with a nonprofit every year through the Charitable Partner Program to give back to the community via outreach and fundraising.
