Welcome to your Weekend Events Roundup — a curated list of different activities, events and news around Denver (and some stuff in the mountains) for the weekend of Feb. 14, 2020. Check out Denverite or The Denver Post for an eclectic mix of stories and happenings every week.
HUMBLE, HUNGRY, HAPPY: CrossFit Colfax, one of Denver’s top CrossFit gyms, joins the Cornerstone Card
YOU ARE WHAT YOU (M)EAT: Pasture Provisions includes farm-to-door delivery on the Cornerstone Card

WINTER PARK EXPRESS + POWDER
WHEN: All weekend / Amtrak train leaves at 7 AM and drops you at Winter Park at 9 AM
WHERE: Union Station (1701 Wynkoop) to Winter Park Resort, and back
COST: One way tickets start at $29
WHY YOU SHOULD GO: This is a really awesome experience in itself, but especially with the recent dumps in Colorado’s Front Range and northern mountains. Travel has been insane along I-70 and 40 with road closures and delays from weather and avalanche mitigation, on top of the normal ski traffic. Take the train. The snowpack has been deliciously magical at Winter Park with plenty of powder stashes — sniff yourself out some rowdy lines, you friggin’ powder hound.
WHEN: Sat. Feb. 15 @ 9-10 AM
WHERE: Downtown Denver Rink at Skyline Park (1601 Arapahoe St)
COST: Free lesson & free skate rental
WHY YOU SHOULD GO: ICYMI, this free learn-to-skate lesson and free rental happens every Saturday morning from 9-10 AM and is open to all ages and levels.
COLORADO MAMMOTH VS. SAN DIEGO SEALS
WHEN: Sat. Feb. 15 @ 7:30 PM
WHERE: Pepsi Center (1000 Chopper Cir)
WHY YOU SHOULD GO: Have you ever seen lacrosse the “Loud House?” An experience not to be missed. Apparently “love will be in the air” as well, but we kinda just want to show up to watch sports.
SPEED DATING / COUPLE OPTIONS HERE — WE GOT YA COVERED
WHEN: Relish – Sat. Feb. 15 @ 6 PM / Denver Speed Dating – Sat. Feb. 15 @ 8 PM
WHERE: Vinue Food & Wine Bar (2817 E 3rd Ave); B ar Helix (3440 Larimer St)
COST: ~$35-40 (ages 25-39)
WHY YOU SHOULD GO: Just do it. There are three to choose from.
ROMANCE UNDER THE SEA
WHEN: Fri. Feb. 14, Sat. Feb. 15, Sun. Feb, 16
WHERE: Downtown Aquarium (700 Water St)
COST: $130 per couple – reservations required
WHY YOU SHOULD GO: This just seems kinda cool — the “Sweetheart Package” includes a four-course dinner for two and two glasses of champagne, which would be way cooler if it were two glasses of champagne per person. It might be. Unclear. Level up and have your V-Day date at the Aquarium, underneath a romantic, watery vista.
DENVER U-FIX-IT CLINIC
WHEN: Sun. Feb. 16 @ 1-4 PM (sign up for one-hour time slots)
WHERE: Denver Public Library (10 W 14th Ave Pkwy, 4th floor ideaLAB)
WHY YOU SHOULD GO: I’m sure you have some broken items laying around the house, as I can say with absolutely certainty that we’ve all been there. Sign up for a one-hour slot and bring in any broken appliance, furniture, jewelry, clothing, kayak — you name it — where volunteer fix-it coaches will help you find solutions to fix your stuff.
SCIENTIFIC AND CULTURAL FACILITIES DISTRICT (SCFD) FREE DAY / CLIFFORD STILL MUSEUM
WHEN: Sat. Feb. 15 @ 10 AM-5 PM
WHERE: Clyfford Still Museum (1250 Bannock St)
WHY YOU SHOULD GO: The Clifford Still Museum offers free admission once a month. Enjoy nine galleries of Clifford Still’s art — the world’s most intact public collection of any major artist.
MILE HIGH GRILLED CHEESE & BEER FEST
WHEN: Sat. Feb. 15 @ 12-8 PM
WHERE: Runway 35 (8863 E 47th Ave)
COST: $65-$99 (21+)
WHY YOU SHOULD GO: I’m just gonna leave this right here from the event details: “Cheese is EVERYTHING, and when you grill it, the world is a measurably better place to be in.” Craft brews, live entertainment, games and, you guessed it: cheese.
